JOSEPH BEET JUKES

JOSEPH BEET JUKES (1811-1869), geologist, born near Birmingham; graduated at Cambridge; took part in several expeditions, and finally became lecturer in the Royal College of Science, Dublin, where he died; he published among other works a "Student's Manual of Geology".
