Juan Latino

Juan Latino (c. 1518 – c. 1597), known as Juan de Sessa, was a Afro-Hispanic poet, born in Ethiopia. He was a freed Spanish slave who later became a famous Latin grammarian and poet. He was also a Spanish professor of Ethiopian descent at the University of Granada. His two volumes of poetry were printed by Hugo de Mena in Granada in 1573 & 1576.
