Jurassic period

Jurassic period is a geological period spanning from about 201.3 million years ago to about 145 million years ago. It began from the end of the Triassic period and spanned up to the beginning of the Cretaceous period. The period in named after the Jura Mountains where the limestone strata from this period was first identified. The period is known for evolution of birds from small warm-blooded dinosaurs.
