Jyotish Majumdar

Jyotish Majumdar was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born on 14.02.1908, Paikardi, Tipperah, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Mohim Chandra Mazumdar. He belonged to Anusheelan Samity. Before arrest, he remained underground for about two years. Ultimately arrested in December 1932 in connection with Interprovincial Conspiracy Case. He was sentenced to 4 and half years prison term and deported to the Andamans jail. He took part in the second hunger strike. He was repatriated in January, 1938. He also took part in another hunger strike in Alipore jail. He served prison term during civil disobedience movement of 1930. After release detained under Defence of India Rules (D.I.R). His total jail period more than 13 years.
