Kainchi Dham is in Nainital district of Uttarakhand in India. This famous place of pilgrimage for Hindus is situated on the Nainital - Almora Road, 9 Kms from Bhowali and 17 Kms from Nainital. This modern pilgrim centre is famous for the ashram of Neem Karoli Maharaj. It derives its name from the word Kaichi which meant in local dialect "two sharp hairpin bends". However, some people mistake this word for scissors, which have no relation to this place whatsoever.
