KALPI

KALPI is a decaying town in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, on the Yamuna, 50 m. SW. of Kanpur.

It was the scene of the defeat of 12,000 mutineers in 1858.

It has been known for manufacturing paper, and exports of grain and cotton.
