Kandukuri Viresalingam Pantulu
Kandukuri Viresalingam Pantulu (1848-1919), also Kandukuri Veeresalingam, was an eminent social reformer and writer. He is considered as the father of modern Telugu literature. He wrote a novel, Rajasekhara Charitamu, which was inspired by the Vicar of Wakefield. He was the first person in modern Telugu to use literature to eradicate social evils. He is also known for social reforms like girls education, widow remarriage and revolutionizing Telugu literature.Nearby pages
