Kaumudi Kanta Bhattacharya

Kaumudi Kanta Bhattacharya was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born in 1917 at Pratau, Nalchiti, Barisal now in Bangladesh. His father's name was Rohini Kanta Bhattacharya. He belonged to Yugantar Party. He was convicted for 6 months under section 107, I.P.C. and subsequently for 5 and 6 months in the KBR Mail Action. Subsequently he was deported to the Anddamans in December 1932, where he took part in the first hunger strike in Cellular jail in 1933 for 45 days. After release had to remain confined at home under internment order. His total jail period was more than six years.
