In 2003 elections of this assembly constituency, JAGAT SINGH of INC was winner. He got 19052 votes which was 54.33% of the total votes polled. TEJWANT SINGH of BJP stood second. He polled 11646 votes which was 33.21%. S.C.NEGI of HVC was third with 2728 votes polled. He got 7.78% of the toatal votes polled. SUKH DEV was at fourth position, who contested the election as CPM candidate. He got 1638 votes which was only 4.67% of the total votes polled. The total number of electors in this costituency was 48513 and 72.38% of voters polled.
