Krishna Pada Chakraborty

Krishna Pada Chakraborty was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born in 1903 in Dacca, now in Bangladesh. He was son of Rajkumar Chakraborty. At the age of 19, he joined Anusheelan Samity. He was arrested in 1930 under B.C.L.A and was confined in Buxa Fort, Doars near Coochbehar town. At thant time he was a fourth year student of Mitford Medical School- Dacca. However, he escaped from Buxa detention camp on 14.02.1932. Latter, he was arrested at Agartola in connection with Tripur-Agartola Action and convicted to 9 years 6 months R.I. Thereafter, he was deported to Cellular Jail Andamans in January 1935. He was also connected with Taltola Postal Action, Dacca. In Andamans jail, he joined the second hunger strike in Cellular jail in 1937 for 37 days. He was repatriated in January 1938, and subsequently released in 1939 from Dum Dum Central Jail. His total jail period about ten years.
