Lafayette Ronald Hubbard

Lafayette Ronald Hubbard (1911 - 1986), was a US author, primarily of science fiction and fantasy stories. He is best known for having founded the Church of Scientology. He authored "Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health" in 1950, and established a series of organizations to promote Dianetics. However, in 1952, he lost the rights to Dianetics in bankruptcy proceedings. He subsequently founded Scientology.
