Lake Balaton

Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Hungary, 48 miles long, and 10 miles broad, 56 miles southwest of Pesth. Its water is slightly saline, and the lake abounds in fish. This shallow lake is situated in west central Hungary, in a wine-producing and resort region south of the Bakony mountains.
