Lake Nyassa
Lake Nyassa is the former name of the Lake Malawi, situated in East Africa in Tanzania and Lago Niassa in Mozambique. It feeds the Zambesi. It is 350 miles long by 40 broad, at an elevation of 1570 ft., and was discovered by Livingstone in 1859. The waters are sweet, and abound with fish. The regions bordering it on the South and West were formerly called Nyassaland. The lake is bounded by Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania.Nearby pages
