Lakhisarai

Lakhisarai is a district in the State of Bihar in India. The district, spread over an area of about 129397 Hectares, lies between 25º to 25º 20’ north Latitude and 85º 55’ to 86º 25’ east longitude. It is bounded by Munger, Sheikhpura, Begusarai and Patna in the East, South, West and North respectively. Lakhisarai is the headquarters town of the district.

Total population of Lakhisarai district is 1,000,912 as per census 2011.

There is one subdivision named Lakhisarai. There are seven blocks - 1 Sadar Lakhisarai, 2. Barahiya 3. Pipariya 4. Halsi 5. Chanan 6. Ramgarh Chowk and 7. Surajgarha.

This district came into existence on the 3rd of July 1994. Earlier it was a sub-division of Munger District.
