Li Hung Chang

Li Hung Chang (1823-1901) was an eminent and enlightened Chinese politician and statesman. He also served as General and official in Ching dynasty. He is chiefly known for advocating modernization of China, was favourable to European culture, and intercourse with Europe. He was sent as a special envoy to the Czar's coronation in 1896, and afterwards visited other countries in Europe, including UK, the United States and Canada.
