Louis Althusser

Louis Pierre Althusser (1918-90) was a French philosopher known mainly for reinterpreting traditional Marxism in the light of structuralist theories. He made efforts to understand the way ideology functions in society.

His works included 'For Marx' (1965) and 'Reading Capital' (1970).
