Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong (1901 – 1971), nicknamed Satchmo, full name Daniel Louis Armstrong, was a US jazz musician, trumpeter, cornet player, singer, and bandleader known for setting innovative standards in early jazz and moved out of collective improvisation into virtuoso deliveries, for which he became famous. He was a major influence on Dixieland jazz. He also appeared in several movies, the most notable them was The Birth of the Blues (1941).
