LOUIS DE DEYSTER

LOUIS DE DEYSTER (1656-1711), a Flemish painter, born at Bruges; was of a deeply religious temper, and his character was reflected in his choice of subjects, such as the "Death of the Virgin," "The Resurrection of Christ," &c.; he was a recluse.
