Majorca

Majorca, also Mallorca, is a Spanish island, the largest of the Balearic Isles in the Mediterranean Sea. It is situated at about 130 miles North-East of Cape San Antonio, in Spain. It is mountains in the North rise to 5000 ft, their slopes covered with olives, oranges, and vines. The plains are extremely fertile, and the climate mild and equable. Manufactures of cotton, silk, and shoes are the chief industries here. The capital city of this island is Palma, which is situated on the South coast, at the head of a large bay of the same name.
