Malmalpur and Shitalpur are twin places of religious importance. These are located in Palkot block of Gumla district in Jharkhand in India. The caves of MALMALPUR and SHITALPUR are extra ordinary. It is always cold inside the caves. It is this reason that gave the name of a place Shitalpur. In the Ramayana, there is a story of Bali and Sugriv brothers. According to the story Sugriv, out of fear from Bali, had taken shelter in Malaypur. People believe that this Malaypur, in subsequent periods came to be known as Malmalpur.
