!MARCH March is the third month of the year in Gregorian calendar. It has 31 days. In the ancient Rome, it was the beginning of the year. It was before 1752 reckoned first month as in the Roman calendar and the legal year beginning on the 25th. It was considered a good time for waging war and the month was dedicated to Mars, the god of war. From Mars, the name March was derived. It is proverbially dusty and stormy, and is the season of the spring equinox.
