Masjid Safa is the first Qutb Shahi mosque of Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, a state of India. It was built in 1518. The mosque is at Golconda and is a well-preserved structure and is also very much in use.
Twenty five years after the mosque was built, Sultan Quli Qutbul Mulk was assassinated by Mir Mahmud Hamadani who was Qiladar of Golconda.
It is said that he committed this murder at the instigation of the heir apparent Yar Quli Jamshid.
It is of unique architectural beauty.
