Mayabunder
Mayabunder is a village in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Union Territory of India. Situated at about 160 km north of Port Bair in the North and Middle Andaman district, the village is home to a large minority of former Burmese Karen tribes, who were originally brought here as cheap logging labour by the British.It located on a long promontory right at the top of the Rangat Island and surrounded by mangrove swamps. It is also an ideal habitat for Olive Ridley turtles and Andaman Green turtles for nesting. The Avis Island and Karmatang Beach are attractions for tourists. The also provide facilities for water sports.
