Meitei

Meitei is a community of Manipur in India, and also the name of their language, which is officially called Manipuri. They are classified as a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group, the largest and dominant of the ethnic groups in the North-East India. Though, they chiefly inhabit the Imphal valley, they are spread in Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Mizoram in North East India, ando also in the neighbouring countries of Myanmar and Bangladesh.
