Melanesia

Melanesia is a group of eleven archipelagoes of crystalline, coralline, and volcanic islands in the West of Polynesia, all South of the equator, and inhabited by the Melanesian or dark oceanic race. It includes the Fiji, Solomon, Bismarck, and New Hebrides islands.
