Menachem Begin
Menachem Begin (1913 — 92) was an Israeli statesman and prime minister of the country during 1977 — 84. Originally, in respect to Arab-Israeli relations, he was a hardliner, but softened after becoming prime minister. After a series of meeting with President Anwar al-Sadat of Egypt he signed a peace treaty between the two countries, for which he, jointly with Sadat, was awarded Nobel Peace Prize in 1978.
