Michael Harper

Michael Harper (1938-2016), full name Michael Steven Harper, also Michael S Harper, was a US poet. He is noted for his works influenced by travel, various cultures, family and racial history. He was also an English professor at Brown University, and the Poet Laureate of Rhode Island from 1988 to 1993.
