Mikhail Baryshnikov

Mikhail Baryshnikov (1948- ), full name Mikhail Nikolaevich Baryshnikov, was a US ballet dancer, born in Latvia of Russian parents. While touring with the Kirov Ballet, he defected to the West in 1974. He served as artistic director of the American Ballet theater during 1980-89.
