Mobilier Crédit

Mobilier Crédit was a banking and financial company founded in Paris in 1852. It was one of the world’s most significant and influential financial institutions in the mid-19th century. It was lending money on security of property other than real, and taking shares in public schemes, such as railways. By the end of 19th century, it suffered great loss, and in 1902, a group of investors led by Jacques de Lapisse acquired its control and merged it with the Office des Rentiers, adopting the name Crédit mobilier français (CMF) for the merged entity. CMF was finally acquired in 1922 by the Banque de l'Union Parisienne.
