Montevideo

Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay. It is situated on the North shore of the Rio de la Plata, 130 miles East of Buenos Ayres. It is a well-built town, with a cathedral, university, school of arts, and museum. The chief industries are beef-salting and shipping, though there is practically no harbour. Nearly half the population are foreigners.
