Nabarangpur
Nabarangapur is a district in the State of Orissa in India. Geographical Area of the district is 5294 Sq km. Population of the district as per census 2001 was 10,18,171.The district has one subdivision, 10 tahsils, 10 development blocks, 169 gram panchayats, and 887 revenue villages.
History
District office Nabarangpur has been functioning w.e.f. 02.10.1992. Prior to that it was a big Sub-Division of the erstwhile Koraput District, considered to be second largest district in the country next to Bastar district in the former state of Madhya Pradesh. Though Koraput was vivisected into four parts, each segment enjoys the status of newly formed district.Politics
