Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna (100 - 165), popularly known as Acharya Nagarjuna, was a Buddhist monk who founded the Madhyamika School of Buddhist philosophy (the ‘Middle Path’), which is a major school of Mahayana Buddhism. The place where he lived was now in Andhra Pradesh, a state of India. The remains in the valley, where he propagated his philosophy, have now been mostly submerged under the waters of Nagarjunasagar Dam situated about 150 Km south of Hyderabad.
