!Nalbari District Nalbari is a district in the state of Assam in India. It is located in between 26°N - 26°51' N latitude and 91° E and 91°47' E longitude . The district is bounded in the north by Baksa district, in the west by Barpeta district, and in the south and east by Kamrup district. Area of the district is 1009.57 sq km. Population as per census 2011 was 771639. There is one subdivision in the district. The number of community development blocks are 7. The district has 471 villages. It came into existence when Nalbari Sub Division of old Kamrup district was formally declared as a District on 14th August,1985. This entire district is in the plains of the Brahmaputra Valley. The tributaries of the Brahmaputra, Nona, Buradia, Pagaldia, Borolia and Tihu which originate from the foothills of the Himalayan Range, contribute enormously towards the agrarian economy of the district.
