Nani Gopal Das

Nani Gopal Das was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born on January1, 1916 at Patiram- Balurghat, West Dinajpur, West Bengal, s/o Late Krishna Das Mahanta. His birth place was inhabited by a patriotic village gentry who suffered during the Non Cooperation and Civil Disobedience Movement in India during British Raj. He belonged to Anusheelan Samity. He was arrested in connection with Bolla Action in 1934, and sentenced 7 years prison term in February 1935. He was deported to the Andamans jail where he took part in the second hunger strike. His total jail period there was about 7 years.
