National Academy of Sciences (NAS)

NAS is a private, non profit corporation established by Congress in the United States to investigate and report on science and technology at the request of the federal government. The National Research Council (NRC) is a part of the NAS and has reported on public health problems such as chemical contamination of drinking water.
