Neil Island

Neil Island is in the South Andaman district of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Union Territory of India. It is situated in the Bay of Bengal at about 37 Km to the south of the Andaman Islands. The widest part of the island is about 5 km in length. This beautiful island has lush green forest and sandy beaches.

It has beautiful coral reefs, brilliant bio-diversity, white sandy beaches and tropical forest and vegetation.

Neil Island is known as the ‘vegetable bowl’ of the Andamans. The settlers named the beaches after mythical characters of the epic Ramayana (Bharatpur, Laxmanpur, Sitapur, Ramnagar etc.).

Beautiful beaches at Laxmanpur, Bharatpur, Sitapur and the bridge formation on the sea shore (Howra Bridge) are the attractions.
