Wisdom & Quotes

  • The bloom of my complexion made all women jealous;
A glance from my eyes, iridescent as autumn pools,
Stirred up waves of passion that would overthrow fortresses.
The moon strained to catch sight of me through my window blinds
Not even the trees and plants could stay indifferent to my beauty.
- The Complaint of the Royal Concubine
