Nicholaus von Dreyse
Nicholaus von Dreyse (1787-1867) was a German inventor of the needle-gun, born at Sömmerda, near Erfurt, the son of a locksmith, and bred to his father's craft. He established a large factory at Sömmerda for a manufactory of firearms. He was ennobled in 1864.Nearby pages
