Nouvelle Heloïse

Nouvelle Heloïse, also Julie ou la nouvelle Héloïse, (Julie or the New Heloise) is a French romance by the Genevan writer and philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau (1712 – 1778), first published in 1761. It is an epistolary novel. The original title of the novel was "Lettres de Deux Amans, Habitans d'une petite Ville au pied des Alpes" (Letters from two lovers, living in a small town at the foot of the Alps).
