Opinion

Opinion is a judgement of an individual about someone or something, which is formed on certain information received and believed to be true.

That is why, different individuals may differ in their opinions about the same person or thing. Opinion lacks accuracy of knowledge with certainty.

If the knowledge is accurate, there cannot be differing opinions. For example, 2+3=5 is an accurate knowledge, a truth, and therefore, there is no room for opinions.

Sometimes, different set of opinions may be equally valid. Such opinions are commonplace things in medical or legal professions.

There can also be differing opinions, which cannot be proved right or wrong. They are simply matters of opinion.

Opinions are thus judgements or conclusions that are tentatively true unless there is a contradiction. Opinion seems to be true or at least probable at the time when it is formed by an individual. However, there is always room for an alternate opinion or several opinions on the same thing.
