The five confluences of rivers in Uttarakhand state of India are known as Panch Prayag. These prayags (where rivers meet) are considered in India as holy places. A dip in the streams of such places are believed to be auspicious and capable of freeing people from sins. These famous places are ((Vishnuprayag)), ((Nandprayag)), ((Karnprayag)), ((Rudraprayag)) and ((Devprayag)).
