Panth Pakar

Panth Pakar is a place of tourist interest in Sitamarhi district of Bihar in India. The place is located at about 8 km northeast of Sitamarhi, where there is an age old Pakar tree, Ficus lacor, of the Bo family.

It is said that when Sita left Janakpur in a Palanquin for Ayodhya after the marriage to Shri Ram, she had taken rest for a while under this very tree. It is precisely for this reason the tree had acquired a religious significance. For Hindus, it has become a place of pilgrimage.
