Patrick Campbell

Mrs Patrick Campbell (1865-1940), nee Beatrice Stella Tanner, was an English actress. She was London and Paris educated who made her first stage appearance in Liverpool (1888). She became famous for variety of roles which included the role of Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion written for her by George Bernard Shaw. She first appeared as Eliza in 1914. She is also known for correspondence with Shaw.
