Paul Belloni Du Chaillu

Paul Belloni Du Chaillu (1837 disputed as some sources say it 1831 - 1903) was an African (French-American) traveller, born in Louisiana. His principal explorations confined to the equatorial region of West Africa, and the result an extension of our knowledge of its geography, ethnology, and zoology, and particularly of the character and habits of the ape tribes, and above all the gorilla.
