Paul Henri Dietrich

Paul Henri Dietrich (1723 - 1789), Baron de Holbach, born born Paul Heinrich Dietrich in Edesheim, was a French-German philosopher, encyclopedist, writer, and prominent figure in the French Enlightenment. Though born near Landau in the Rhenish Palatinate, he lived and worked mainly in Paris. He is best for his work "The System of Nature" (1770) and "The Universal Morality" (1776).
