PIERRE ANTOINE BERRYER (1790-1868), an eminent French barrister, born at Paris; a red-hot Legitimist, which brought him into trouble; was member of the National Assembly of 1848; inimical to the Second Empire, and openly protested against the 'coup d'état'.
