Pietro Aretino
Pietro Aretino (1492-1556), called the "Scourge of Princes," was an Italian a licentious satirical writer, born at Arezzo, in Tuscany, alternately attached to people and repelled from them by his wit, moved from one centre of attraction to another. He settled in Venice, where he died after an uncontrollable fit of laughter which seized him at the story of the adventure of a sister.Nearby pages
