Pind Dan

Pind Dan is a religious concept among the Hindus. It is a ritual which is performed after death of a person. This ritual is believed compulsory so that the soul of the dead can be released from worldly attachments.

There are a few important religious places in India, the chief among them is Gaya, where this ritual is especially performed. It can be performed the whole year, however, there is a special fortnight called Pitripaksh in which people particularly observe the rituals associated with it.
