Pollux

Pollux, in Greek mythology, was the twin brother of Dioscuri. In French version of the story, they are known as Polydeuces and Castor, while in Roman mythology they are known as Pollux and Castor. These twin deities were worshiped by sailors, since they were believed to succour shipwrecked sailors with favourable winnds.

In astronomy, Polux is the brightest star in the constellation of Gemini lying close to the star Castor.
