Predators' Ball

Predators' Ball was an annual convention held by Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., the American multinational investment bank that was forced into bankruptcy in 1990 due to its involvement in illegal activities in the junk bond market, driven by senior executive Michael Milken. The first convention was held in 1979 aiming at matching high-risk companies searching for financing with investors who wanted the high rewards that could come with higher risks. However, the later conventions increasingly focused on leveraged buyouts and hostile takeovers using junk bonds.

There is also a book titled "The Predators' Ball" subtitled "The Inside Story of Drexel Burnham and the Rise of the Junk Bond Raiders" by the Wall Street Journal writer Connie Bruck, which largely recounts the rise of Michael Milken, his firm Drexel Burnham Lambert, and the leveraged buyout boom they helped to fuel in the 1980s. The book was first published in 1988.
